Tidewater Bible College exists to provide quality academic training in Bible, ministry and spiritual life to emerging leaders and laborers called to establish new models of community impact where they live, work and worship. We promote an approach to Christian life that prioritizes knowing God, serving the forgotten, multiplying disciples and making Him known among the unreached—at home and abroad.
The Tidewater Bible College Story
Organized in 1992 as Bible Teachers Institute, Tidewater Bible College has served hundreds of students throughout the Tidewater, Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina areas. Tidewater Bible College is currently building extension site partnerships with local churches that share this vision of quality ministry training.
Our diverse student body includes high school and college graduates, representing a variety of vocations from local pastors to homemakers. Most are first-time college students; many are the first in their families ever to attend college of any kind. Our enrollment ranges from 35-60 students each quarter. The one thing they all have in common is a love for God's word, and a passion to live it and share it with people where they live, work and worship.
Although our students represent a cross-section of denominational backgrounds and traditions, the leadership and faculty team unifies around the belief in the continuous presence and power of Christ's Spirit in His Body. Through the power of His Spirit, our staff, faculty, and students are equipped to know God passionately and to make His life-changing gospel known to people where they live, work and worship.
